Open ToolkitThe DITA Open Toolkit is a set of Java-based, open source tools that provide a reference implementation for processing DITA topics and DITA maps. With an authoring tool to create DITA files, the Open Toolkit provides a complete end-to-end publishing system for structured content. Known as the OT or the dita-ot, it has been integrated into key DITA authoring tools such as Adobe FrameMaker and JustSystems XMetaL, among others. The home page of the DITA Open Toolkit is on SourceForge, which says: The DITA Open Toolkit is an implementation of the OASIS DITA Technical Committee's specification for Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) DTDs and Schemas. Anna van Raaphorst and Dick Johnson of VR Communications authored the Open Toolkit User Guide. The DITA OT User Guide describes the software needed and the steps to follow to install the Open Toolkit. Comtech Services also provides an OT Installation Guide. Dick Johnson has prepared a set of debugging and reporting tools for the OT.. The OT User Guide is available in a searchable Eclipse Help format at DITA Infocenter. We plan to incorporate the User Guide pages in this wiki, to support comments and discussion.
